Why academic research in AI is a total waste of time: agree, but let's take it easy, please! 🤗😂

I do agree we have several issues on the Academic world, I have just published a book on Pulblish or Perish (POP), how it is against innovation, and how it is creating a culture of “flat science”. Nonetheless, being an academic, I do believe we have hope. Right now, I have created an online discussion, on innovating with biomathematics, with similar argument of yours. I have written:

"I hope we academics would wake up and do not let this important task to others, since most of the hard work we have already done, the last steps are relatively simple." Innovating with biomathematics

My point is: let's not demonize the academic world. Minsky was academic, and he is one of the top researches in AI! By the way, I am citing you on my upcoming book on computational thinking!
